  7. About Hot Tuna. This group began as a spin-off of Jefferson Airplane. Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady began playing as a duo, performing acoustic blues songs by the likes of Mississippi John Hurt and Reverend Gary Davis.
